Ty's Chiped Tooth

About 2 weeks ago all the kids had their 6 month dental checkup and cleaning.  While there the dentist told us that Tyler had a baby tooth on the bottom left side that was chiped.  They decided to nothing about it because it was a baby tooth and did not cause Ty any discomfort. Well...last night Ty was eating a piece of hard candy and broke the tooth clear down to the root! So, this morning he went back to the dentist and they numbed him up and wiggled it out! He was very brave and the tooth fairies wallet will be a little emptier after tonight..lol!

First Game!

Maridian had her first official T-ball game this morning!  She was so excited!  Watching 4 and 5 year olds play ball is just hilarious!  3-10 swings to hit the ball, have to be shoved and yelled at to run, can't run straight, watch the ball roll right past them, walk the ball to the coach instead of throwing it, play in the dirt, talk to their friends, short attention spans, and it all equals great FUN! Maridian has made a few friends on her team and has become close friends with a girl named Shalee that will be in her class this fall in school! It just thrills me to see her growing up and trying new things!  We have discovered that she can throw with both hands but favors her left.  Trying to find a left handed mitt proved to be nearly impossible but after 8 stores we finally found one and she is doing great now with throwing and catching the ball! Her brothers sure enjoy helping her practice too!  It is so heartwarming to see Noah take Maridian outside and coach her.  He absolutely loves it and so does she!

I Love You Honey!  Our children are truly blessed to have the greatest father they could have ever asked for!  You are such an awesome influence and example for our children, especially our boys!  I see them growing up to be the amazing men we dreamed they would be and it is because of the example you set for them! Thank you for making our lives more blessed every day because we have you!

Tick!

Yesterday (thursday) our family including the dog, went hiking on Scout Mountain near our home and then afterwards, the younger boys slept in the backyard in a tent with our dog Max. We did not even think about checking everyone for ticks! Well...Around 10 pm tonight (friday), Justice was taking a shower.  All of a sudden I hear this high pitched scream and then "Uhhhh MOM!?! There's a black bug on my balls and it won't come off! I went in there and sure enough he had a tick that had embedded itself on his balls! I had him get out and lay on the couch and I tried for several minutes, with several techniques including a match, to get it off but it would not budge!  So, off to the ER we went!  After waiting for almost 2 hours, the doc finally came in and removed the tick!  Afterwards, Justice said "Hum, it looks like a little crab!"  The doc, male nurse, and I all cracked up so hard and the doc said "Your mom will talk to about that in a few years!"  Hilarious!

While we were waiting a teen boy, about 17, came in by ambulance and was wheeled into the waiting room in a wheelchair bleeding, shaking, and crying.  His friend was immediately taken to the trauma unit. All the kid said was that they were long boarding and that whatever they did it was the stupidest thing he has ever done.  I have no idea what actually happened. I asked if he was okay and he just crumpled in tears so I went and half held him (he was bleeding) because at that moment he needed a mom!  He was hurting, scared, and alone and immediately calmed down once I comforted him.  I feel like I was there to be there for him! God works in mysterious ways sometimes!

Justice Gets Stuck!

Justice got his head stuck in a cloth grocery bag! He stuck his head and arm through the handles to wear the bag like a purse and got stuck! LMBO..I love that kid! He was able to pull it off by himself so I took a picture at each step in the process..lol! I Love You Jay! You make mommy laugh all the time! My day would not be the same without your hilarious antics!

Mom! My Head is Stuck!
Keep Going!  Pull Harder!
Aww! Finally! I am Free!

T-Ball!

Maridian has been begging to play baseball for quite some months now. So, when we saw that T-ball sign-ups were this last week we decided it was time to put her on a team! She feels so left out when all the boys go to scouts, friends houses, swimming, camping, and so forth during the summer. We decided that T-ball would be Maridian's summer activity that was just hers. She had her team meeting yesterday and all the teammates decided on the name T-Rex for their team and the team colors are going to be green with white writing. Today was Maridians first team practice. They will practice M-F for 2 weeks and then start to play the actual games. I was so proud watching my girl run, hit, and catch! Go Maridian!

75 Degrees!

About 3 weeks ago, I bought the kids a new slip n' slide for the summer. Since then they have asked everyday if we can set it up yet. I told them not until it was sunny and over 70 degrees out. Well, today was the day! The sun is shining and our high is 75 so the kids are sliping and sliding! They are so excited! Hopefully we will continue to have good weather now! Of course, Sterling is just supervising the fun because he now feels he is too old to go sliding across the lawn..lol! So, Here are the best picture of each of the kids sliding from oldest (supervisor) to youngest!

Slate Board Craft!

I was recently called to be on the Relief Society Activities Planning Committee for my ward at church.  I was asked to come up with a fun and easy craft we can do at our next activity.  I searched the internet and came across this super easy but awesome patriotic craft.  I bought a slate board from a local craft store for $1.99, and some acrylic paint.  I started by putting a layer of clear laquar on the wood frame, then painted an American flag on the slate itself, and then finished it off by writing a patriotic word on each side using a permanent marker adding a little extra swirl to tie it all together.  This craft took a total of 20 minutes and at the most $3.00 to make. It came out good and I am quite proud of it!  Something I can display all summer!
